A new project came to mind incorporating my love of words. I'm a self proclaimed "wordy". Chalkboards are perfect for die hard wordies because in a moment they can be changed out as inspiration hits.
Armed with a foam brush and a can of chalkboard paint, my kitchen cupboard would become my muse. I can't lie...when the first stroke of black paint slid across my pristine white cabinet I had a moment of uh~oh. Determined to go on, I completed the two coats required. Waiting for it to dry my uncertainty turned into anticipation. What would my first scribbles be...
These great little chalk holders purchased from staples were looped onto some ribbon and strung on the end of the cabinet...ready to use. A little retro looking, they remind me of school days. So what do you think? Are you tempted to try it out on your cabinets or should I have stopped at uh-oh?

I love this! The end of a cabinet is pretty much useless space anyway. I like that it is just one small area too. I once saw a decorator use chalkboard paint on all the lower cabinets in a home with children. I was picturing a chalky mess all of the time-but not your idea-it's perfect!
I too am a wordie! My pantry cabinet is painted with chalkboard paint and are your ready...my cozy vintage kitchen table is also painted on top with chalkboard paint, yep black, and I scribbel on it all the time. Going to check out your art. It looks delish so far...

Paris is everything, right? My daughter is turning 12 this year and she is in French Immersion, so we promise her a trip in 3 years to Paris...I keep dreaming and love to see is your destination too!

following over from funky junk donna's. this project is something that i also did on one of our end cabinets. i love it as much as you do! i found chalk ink markers at a craft store which is a dustless alternative but i do love your retro holder! stop by my blog to take a peek at mine when you have a free moment.
